Yara dos Santos is a Cape Verdean writer. Her book, CABO VERDE: TRADICAO E SABORES (Cape Verde: Tradition and Flavors) is about the gastronomic tradition of her native land.
Cape Verde, a nation formed in 1500 at the confluence of the Atlantic Routes to the Americas, Africa and the East, is a 'greenhouse' for men, animals and plants.
In view of this, the country  has become a haven of different kinds of foods,  vegetables, animals and drinks from several parts of the world which are prepared in various ways.
It is therefore imperative that the names and knowledge for the preparation of these array of gastronomic delights be well documented.
Yaro dos Santos has won several international awards, notably the "Leadership In Communication Personality 2019" award.
She is the President of the Cape Verde Public Relations Association.
The book, an interesting instrument for disseminating the multifaceted Cape Verdean cuisine.
